The romantically named Saint-Amour appellation takes its title from the Saint Amor-Bellevue commune, the northern most of the Beaujolais region that borders the Macon appellation to the north, named for a Roman Soldier who escaped death by converting to Christianity. This wine has aromas of spiced berry and stone fruit. The taste is both rich and spicy, yet overall, this is light and elegant. This particular Beaujolais village produces intensely red-fruited wine. This wine continues develop flavors in the cellar next few years to reach to the peak.
