Description: Supple, balanced and concentrated are words that truly describe this Chateauneuf du Pape. The 2012 vintage is a improvement from the 2010 vintage, which we thought was fabulous. The aromas are just starting to reveal themselves. Black Cherry and cocoa powder are dominant but more to come as the wine matures. The 2010 showed a much darker earthy tone. The 2012 balances the earth with the fruit. Good dusty tannins with a hint of grip. Upfront, juicy red fruit with a mid-palate of vanilla and sweet oak. As the wine moves across the mid-palate, a pronounced black pepper and cherry licorice root starts to take hold. This wine will continue to improve within the next 3 to 5 years.
