The Mediterranean climate, marked by mistral, and the soil nature are favorable to rich and heavy wine growing in the Cote du Rhone region of south France. Domaine le Garrigon has been cultivating vines organically since 1997. Fleshy and round, this opens nicely in the glass, delivering plum, black cherry, lavender and briar flavors that stay lively on the finish. “Domaine le Garrigon was our clear favorite, with its fresh red fruit and mineral flavors. A juicy, pleasurable wine, it would be good for gulping uncritically but offers enough interest to satisfy people who care about what they are consuming.” Eric Asmov of The New York Times adores.
Food Pairing: red meats, game, charcuterie, hard cheese.
