Description: The Collio region, the northeastern corner of Italy that borders Slovenia, is known to produce the one of the best Italian white wines, particularly Pinot Grigio. Originally from Slovenia, the Princic family, a wine producer since 18th century, moved to Collio in 1910 and began making wines with their own grapes from the small hilly vineyards. The quality driven producer eventually led the vineyard to a high-density planting, a popular method used in Burgundy. No chemicals are used in vineyards. Resulted wine shows the true expressions of Collio: stony minerality, refreshing acidity, focused fruitiness and a dry, and lingering finish.
Food Pairing: Chicken, seafood, vegetable, charcuterie, soft cheeses.
