This Pignoletto comes from a old-vine vineyard planted in 1933 by the grandfather. Today, after so many vintages, they still produce small quantities of grapes that are transformed into a wine in the best years. The very old, fragile and twisted vines of Pignoletto are nurtured and maintained with great care and attention, being a true testament to the historical Monteveglio family of winemakers for over a century. Skin maceration takes a week, followed by fermentation in barrels, where it rests on the lees for a year before it’s removed and bottled. It is a complex, nutty, dry wine that appeals to those who like aged wines.
