Posip is a very old varietal, largely considered the greatest white wine grape of Croatia and this wine is very popular among Croatian wine consumers. From the small village of Cara in the island of Korčula, the oldest inhabited islands in the Adriatic with numerous stone archeological findings, this government-rated “premium” Pošip is a full bodied wine with notes of candied orange peel, almonds, dried apricot, and mineral zest, accented with bitter lemon pits. A gracefully full, smooth and substantial body. Sophisticated and delicious. A really fantastic value for the price.
Food Pairing: white meats, pasta in white wine sauce, prosciutto, aged cheeses, the classic Dalmatian-style grilled fish with garlic, parsley and olive oil.
