Grapes: Old Vine Garnacha
Region: Spain> Navarra> Nekeas.
Notes: 60 year old vines.
Aromas of red and black fruits, spices on the well rounded palate with soft tannins. The Ebro River is one of Spain’s most important wine rivers. It winds its way through many wine regions including Rioja, Navara, and Priorat, but also the lesser known Carinena where Compos de Luz estate locates. Along the Ebro River, Garnacha has been grown for many generations and still is the key variety for Carinera. Part of the estate grow 40 to 80 year old bush vines, which gives small bunches of intensely fruity grapes capable of producing excellent wines with a marked personality and soft tannins. Low humidity, good air circulation, and intense sun create very health vineyards with very little treatment if needed.
