Piemonte Chardonnay 2013/14 De Forville “Ca’ del Buc”

Rarely seen in Piedmont, chardonnay, packed with minerality and layers of complex nuttiness, reminds interestingly a good Chablis from France. Vinified and aged in stainless steel, the Piedmont Chardonnay is brisk and clean but rather full-bodied as it naturally achieves 13% alcohol annually. From the Ca del Buc vineyard site in Castagnole Lanze, the vines are now 30 years of age. Established in the village of barbaresco in 1860, the De Forville Family, immigrated to Piedmont from Belgium, is now the fifth generation in place.
