Deep ruby in color, the flavors are big, succulent, dark and dense: a fruit stew of black plums, dark cherry, prune, dry fig, with hints of cocoa and vanilla. The tannins are ripe, and smooth. The sweet spice follows the sweet fruit. This wine is made from Primitivo varietal from the Puglia region (the heel of Italy). Only the best grapes are hand picked from an old vine single estate. Primitivo is known to be the origin of California’s Zinfandale.
