If you want to discover what Sangiovese is all about without splurging for high priced bottles, this is as textbook as it gets. History has seen the San Giusto property transform from 14th century fortress to 19th century monastery to present day winery. Thankfully it may had finally found its calling because the wines produced here are some of the finest on the planet. The estate is located about 20 miles northeast of Siena in the Gaiole zone, one of the southernmost portions of the Chianti Classico appellation.
