Venezia Giulia Pinot Grigio 2009 Sant’Elena “Klodic”

Product Description

Fruity, Earthy, Light/Medium Body White.

Grapes: Pinot Grigio (Pinot Gris).
Region: Northern Italy> Friuli-Venezia Guilla> Isonzo.
Notes: Hand harvest. Low yield.

What set this wine apart from most traditional Pinot Grigios is its vibrant color and structure. While most Pinot Grigio immediately face the soft press and bottling after the harvest, this one is macerated for 36 hours to obtain deep color and flavors and then left on the lees for 6 months. The delicate and complex process usually not reserved for the variety, it vaults the Klodic into the top tier of the world's Pinot Grigios. Located in the northeast corner of Italy, the Saint’Elena estate was founded in the late 19th century, but the estate was entirely dedicated to wine production during the 1960’s. The single vineyard with iron rich alluvial soil with good drainage receives the oceanic influence from the nearby Adriatic Sea.

Food pairing: Versatile, Seafood, Chicken, Mushroom, Cream sauce.
