Forming with Alvarinho the most aromatic duo of Vinho Verde region varieties, Loureiro finds its fullest expression in Lima Valley sub-region. Rich, dry, concentrated, with fruity notes such as kiwi and lychee, this unique white sees aging on the lees for an additional complexity. Founded in 2002 by Vasco Croft, a former furniture designer and Steiner School educator, Afros is a project designed to combine ecological and economical aspects to create true sustainability. They seek to capture this through Biodynamic viticulture, letting the uniqueness of the land shine through the fruit for inimitable wines. The winemaking is traditional. Fermented with natural yeast and aged on the lees for four months.
