In 2002 the Vivera family finally realized their dream to purchase a wine estate in Martinella (the name comes from Saint Martin, the wine saint) in Sicily on the northeast side of Mt. Etna. The estate has olive groves and vineyards where native grape varietals are cultivated organically. Etna’s mountainous range and volcanic soil creates microclimates that assist the Vivera family in creating the unique and elegant Etna wines. This red, made from indigenous Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappicio grapes, exhibits spice and fruit bouquet with balsamic, red fruit, and mineral notes, Savory and fresh with a long finish. A charming wine.
Food Pairing: red meats, smoked and grilled meats, charcuterie, tomato sauce.
