Founder of estate was one of Napoleon's generals - still owned by the same family. Current owner/winemaker is Jean Francois Clouet. Estate is in Bouzy where the best Pinot Noir in Champagne is grown - 8 hectares of all Grand Cru vineyards. The wines are cellared under the family's 17th century village house. The estate is respected for its terroir, craftsmanship, and historical expression of the appellation.

2008 is destined to be one of the great Champagne vintages is the last century. Andre Clouet has just recently disgorged the 2008 vintage (2014). The vintage champagne is full, round, and exuberant on the palate. The perlage is refined and consistently uniformed. The notes of dried mushrooms, baked pear, bitter almonds, and mineral chalk all combine to make a great complex champagne that is sure to evolve through the next 10 years.
