Dark, rich, dry with dark cherry, dry and stewed fruits, vanilla and spices. Approachable, quaffable and full of rustic charms. Smooth texture and silky tannins. In short, this is a type of wines you would be served at a casual tapas bar in Madrid, Spain. In fact, Bodegas Villarta is located in the slope of Gredos mountain range just a half hour away from the city. After a month long fermentation in stainless steel tanks, the wine is matured in new Allier (impressive) French oak and American oak barrels for two months, and additional 8 months in the bottle.
Food pairing: very versatile. Charcuterie, any red meats, rustic dishes, hard cheese.
