Located in deepest southern Italy of Calabria (the “toe” of Italian map), Ciro is considered one of the oldest named wines in the world, with a winemaking history stretching back thousands of years. Made from Gaglioppo, a southern Italian grape variety, Ciro is known for an intense fresh crushed berry flavors, often accented by cherry and spicy secondary notes. On the palate, it is light and fruity, but the structure is sturdy with persisting and fine grain tannins. A very interesting Beauty and the Beast effect. Solagi is produced in the traditional way and refined in steel vats and oak casks.
