Product Description

Big, rich, deep, full-body red

Grape: Petit Verdot
Region: South France> Languedoc> Thezan-Les-Beziers
Notes: Organic. No oak.

Wine was produced on this estate since Roman rule. The Benin family has been cultivating the vines since 1955. In the 1970s, winemaker Guy Benin was among the pioneers of Bordeaux grape varieties in the Languedoc, replacing most of the southern grape varieties with Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Sauvignon. The soil is mainly clay-limestone with pebbles, making a terroir very similar to Chateauneuf-du-Pape, or even Graves in Bordeaux. This wine displays deep purple hues. The bouquet combines evergreens like juniper and myrtle. Savory bitters, capers and black olives intertwine within a viscous, medium to full-bodied wine. Finishes with gripping tannins and Blackberry fruit.

Food Pairing: Lamb w/ herbs, roasted/grilled red or game meats, goat’s milk cheese, marrow, hearty dishes.
