Description: Aged for 18 months in large oak barrels this wine comes off as earthy and lean. Upfront the wine exhibits notes of lavender and rosemary with dried red berry fruit. The tannins are well integrated but come off as a little abrasive and distinctly oaky. This wine speaks of old-world, rustic tradition that makes a hearty food wine. The winery is situated in the heart of the village of Gigondas and founded in 1900. Stephanie Fumoso is the current proprietor of this family estate. Minimal intervention in the vineyards and in the celler are essential to preserving the true character of the wine.
