Description: Vincent Gaudry has been producing Sauvignon Blanc in the area of Sancerre for many years. The vines are 40 to 70 years of age, reaching deep into the sub-stratum allowing for more mineral character. The soil is Kimmeridgian clay (stage or layer of sub-soil that dates back over a million years where pulverized ancient fossils can be found). This produces a character unique to Sancerre of gun-flint, limestone, and ocean air. The texture is creamy and round with perfect acid/alcohol balance. Mineral stone dances on the mid-palate with layered with lemongrass and starfruit. Finishes with hints of dried citrus- honey.
