Description: Dominus means 'Lord Of The Estate" in Latin. In the late 1960's Christian Moueix fell in love with Napa Valley and its wines. Son of Jean-Pierre Moueix, the famed wine producer from Libourne, France. Christian returned home in 1970 to manage the family vineyards including Chateau Petrus, La Fleur-Petrus, Trotanoy in Pomerol and Chateau Magdelaine in Saint Emilion. All the forementioned chateau's are at the top of their game for the last 15 to 30 years.

In 1981 Christian Moueix decided to purchase the historic Napanook Vineyard , a vineyard in Yountville that had been the source of fruit for some of the finest Napa Valley wines of the 40's and 50's.

"The 2004 Dominus is a full-bodied wine showing brilliantly at age ten. Loads of cedar, kirsch, fritcake, black currants, and spice box. It has a creamy, opulent texture but remains light on its feet. This sexy wine is showing exceptionally well and is best drunk over the next 10-15 years." -97pts. Wine Advocate (5600 cases)

"The 2004 vintage is deep red in color, with an intense nose of vanilla, black currant and cedar. The elegant integration of tannins and fruit is noticed immediately. Flavors of warm mulled spices on the mid-palate complement the balanced and complex structure. The long, aromatic finish exhibits notes of leather and cardamom." - Christian Moueix, proprietor.
