One of the most venerable producers in Spain, Lopez de Heredia produces traditional, age worthy Rioja wines. Their wines are legendary and still made the way they were when the winery was founded over 130 years ago. This white Rioja is aged 4 years in barrel and almost 4 in bottle before release. 100% Viura grape from the Zaconia vineyard, where vines average around 47 years old. The poor stony soils face south and contribute to the wine complexity and minerality. Aromas of ripe fruit with sweet almonds counterbalance nicely with youthful acidity.
