Nero d'Avola is the most important red wine grape in Sicily and is one of Italy's most important indigenous varieties. It is named after Avola in the far south of Sicily and its wines are compared to New World Syrah, with sweet tannins and plum flavors. It also contributes to Marsala blends. Alluring aromas of blackberry and black plum. Dry, rounded, warm and full-bodied on the palate. A young dynamic team is nurturing ancient tradition here in Noto-Pachino in the southern tip of Sicily; the area known to produce highest quality Nero d’Avola.

Food Pairing: Anything Sicilian, Southern Italian. Wonderful with pizza, tomato sauce pasta, grilled meats, rustic dishes, mushrooms and mature cheeses.
