Saint Emilion 2004 Chateau Simard

Product Description

Grapes: 88% Merlot, 12% Cabernet Franc.
Region: France> Bordeaux> Saint Emilion
Notes: Alain Vauthier-Maziere, owner of the prestiges Chateau Ausone releases Simard when he feels the wine is ready to drink.

Description: Merlot is king in Saint-Emilion with Cabernet Franc playing the queen. Clay, sand, and gravel is the perfect compliment to the merlot grape. Chateau Simard produces only one wine. It is a classic and elegant wine that ferments in concret vats, bottled and aged in the cellar until completely developed.

Crimson red with hues of orange rust around the rim. Aromas of five spice, cedar, and wet leaves. On the palate, medium-body, juicy mouthfeel with lean mature tannins. Mid-palate speaks of currants, prunes, and eggplant. Aged balsamic, leather, and oak on the finish.
